Manitowish Waters Fishing Facts
Centrally located in the northeast portion of the Manitowish Chain of Lakes, Fawn Lake offers excellent fishing with minimal traffic within our sheltered bay. All 10 Manitowish Chain of Lakes are accessible from our docks providing fishermen and water sports enthusiasts over 4000 acres of navigable water for their entertainment.
The smallest of the ten lakes on the navigable chain, Fawn Lake boasts a variety of fish and is a producer of some notable catches! Regardless of age or experience, if you’re out to land trophy Musky, Northern, Walleye or Bass ……or stocking up on Bluegill, Crappie & Perch for the family fish fry……You’re in the right spot!
Covered Dock System
The covered, lighted dock system, unique to our resort, will keep your boat and equipment dry and clean. Of course your own boat is welcome at the resort, but if needed, motors and various fishing boats are available for rent right at the resort. One dock space is provided per cabin.
Boat Landing
If you bring your own boat you can launch it at the Clear Lake boat landing which is only 1 ½ blocks away from Fawn Lake's Timber Lodge Resort. Ample trailer parking is provided at the resort.
Fish Cleaning House
Clean your catch in our convenient fish cleaning house equipped with power, water and various accessories for guest use.
Fishing Highlights
Opening season first Saturday in May, for walleye, northern and pan fish. Musky begins later part of May, and Bass in mid-June.
Small and Large Mouth Bass provide entertainment for anglers throughout the summer months.
The annual Musky Classic in early September, hosted by Manitowish Waters, lures participants to Fawn and Clear Lakes in search of trophy musky!
